' Q. 2' A Q.-f. 5 ik, rt, Q JOYCQ Weber l-OYGTTG ll1Cl6 Janice Miguel Pete Simonian Public Relations Yell Leader Secretory Boys, Vice president Consisting of thirteen members elected by the stu- dent body, the Student Council at Central Union High School has accomplished many worthwhile services under the leadership of Student Body President, Leon Lake and its advisor, Mr. Paul B. Davis. The Student Council or the student government at C.U.H.S. is in charge of all business of the student body and all its activities. Their biggest project of the year was the establish- I , I ment of a student store on campus. lt was established DO ores Gmsl' for the convenience of the students. Such items as paper, pencils, pens, erasers, and rulers may be bought there. The student store has been successful this past year, thanks to the support ofthe student body. The reason for the clubs is because the f in- student body shows a great amount o terest and desire to participate in as many clubs and activities as possible. This is good since social poise, so essential in adult life, develops in cooperation in club projects and service activities. f Whether you belong to Block C, Radio G A A Club, F.H.A., Student Council, or . . ., you are building your social personality and having fun at the same time. During the dance, the Sportsmanship Trophy was awarded to the school whose team showed the best sportsmanship during the sports activities. The Cheering Section Trophy was also awarded to the school displaying the best school spirit during the games. The Student Council also attended many meetings at other schools, some included the North Shasta League meetings held every month, Leadership Day at Washing- ton High, and Association of Student Council, District i4, Leadership Day at Reedley High. The Student Representatives meet with the Student Council every other two weeks after school. Elected through their Social Science classes, they voice the opin- ions and ideas of the students whom they represent. Thanks to the Student Council and Student Repre- sentatives, is the least we can say for the fine work they have done for Central High the past year Koligian Margaret Solsedo, Lupe Calles.
