MAINTENANCE MEN 'nc':r Ei:-f 'fi A :ff Mr G-2 i. l BUS DRIVERS The bus drivers who carry students to and from school day after day receive little glory for their iob. At the present time there are five women and six men driving the buses. Women bus drivers began the rounds during the war when there was a shortage of manpower. Their work was so satisfying that they stayed as regular drivers. All of the male drivers are farmersg most of the women are housewives. Mr. Axel Uhd has been our most faithful and consistent driver with nineteen years of service to his credit. Bus driving is a family affair for four of our drivers-Mr, and Mrs. Anderson, and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver, The Student body wishes to thank all the drivers for a safe and successful year. FORTY-SEVEN 1948 EL EE THU STAFF ' The EI Centro staff headed by Elmer Freitas, editor-in-chief, and with Mrs. Saunders as their advisor began working soon alter school started. They took Old Spain' as their theme and have carried it out on the covers and throughout the annual in as many ways as possible, The staff has worked many long hours to make this Yearbook one that you will always treasure because of the pleasant memories that it recalls.
