Someone overheard Rip, as he strolled down the hall chat- tering to himself, When I went to school the teachers and prin- cipal ran everything. Now-a- days the students are trained to run their own student af- fairs. The student council was a mighty fine idea. Yes, the way things look, democracy will still be safe while I sleep a hundred years more. Take a look for yourself at these, your leaders.

In DCdlC3tl0H Important announcements are made to the students by Mr Shaw 5 9 A A man who can lead a school guude the peo ple who work there wlth kindness and friendship and malntaun a hugh standard of respect for has school and himself as a man of whom we can be proud Our prlnclpal Mr George Shaw IS such a man It IS under hls strong hand that Central has become and remauned a tune school Mr Shaw began has career at Central as a student He partnclpated In man-y athletic actlvl tres and held a hugh scholastic rating whlle at tending school here and he graduated In 1914 In 1947 he returned to Central to accept the posltlon as prmclpal and since then he has guven hls tlme and energy to promoting better cltlzens for our community Thus year Mr Shaw suffered from an Illness spent consnderable time un the hospital and was away from school for nearly the entire flrst sem ester Anxnous to return to school he came back before he was quite able and worked only part tnme Wnth great prlde we pomt to our wonder ful frlend, Mr Shaw, a man who IS entirely ded: cated to has Bug, Central famlly, and to hum we deducate thus book ll lim I.
