VARSITY Basketball, sometimes tailed Hoosicr madness,” took the sports spotlight of the 1955-56 school year. In this, we feel Central played an impressive role with a record of 13 wins and 10 losses. Small but mighty they were and packed with surging spirit. Let's take a look at their vigorous schedule. A fine start quickly established our quintet as one of the top teams in the county. Many will not forget the glorious victory at Wabash. But following this an unfortunate letdown plagued our crew. It seemed difficult for them to find that earlier season form. Then an inspiring comeback! Akron and Silver Lake were bumped off. Now with those encouraging victories under their belts the Trojans traveled to compete in the Sectional. Reaching the Saturday afternoon pairings, our gang closed their season with a very well-played contest against the eventual Sectional and Regional winner, Wabash.
