Now that we are Seniors we hate to leave the Big Top. It has been a great year. Now it was our turn to have fun initiating the Freshmen. We girls dressed them like clowns and the boys made them bow down every chance they got. Our Senior class party was one of the best and most enjoyed that we ever had. In November we started selling magazines and we set the record for Central by selling over $2,000 worth of subscriptions. We celebrated by having a turkey supper for which the Curtis Publishing Company provided the turkey. Mr. Peck, the district representative, was there and presented a watch to Steve Hearn, the highest salesman, plus certificates and trophies to many others. Later on in the year we chose our caps and gowns and Commencement announcements. Aside from those on the staff there were those who wrote and those who took pictures and probably most important of all those who sold the En Ems. When March rolled around we were knee deep in our Senior play Meet Me in St. Louis.” We took on the added responsibility of costumes, music, and putting the play on two nights. Even though Miss Noffsinger did feel like killing us a few times, the play was a super sensational success. During most of April we spent much of our time day-dreaming about those wonderful days of our Senior trip. Finally on May 15, we boarded the train in Columbia City and awa-a-ay we went. Our grand finale was Commencement night as we walked up the aisle and out of the Big Top, wishing that we were just entering again. Weimer Locker Company Page Thirteen
