CEN-HI-SUN The Cen-Hi-Sun was published bi-monthly during the 1949-1950 school year. It had as its policy the dissemination of school news, school gossip (slander), alumni news, and various tidbits of current interest. Special features during the year were the senior silhouettes and the cover contest at Christmas time. STAFF AS PICTURED FIRST Row—D. Egolf, Art Editor; Miss Noffsinger, Sponsor; T. Dunlavy, Business Manager; Melba Rice, Editor. SECOND Row—M. Richardson, Art Editor; K. Moore, Junior Editor; G. Hedrick, R. Brooks, L. Kindy, Press Room. After-the-game-dances were sponsored by Cen-Hi-Sun as a means of raising operating funds. Visiting schools were invited to attend these dances. At the game just before the Christmas vacation Central Alumni were special guests. Alumni were registered as they entered the building and were given tags to wear during the evening as a means of identification and bearing the year the person graduated. Besides the officers listed elsewhere on this page, other members of Cen-Hi-Sun included the remaining members of the senior English classes. SUNSHINE The society started the year with a great burst of sunshine for all except the poor pledges who had to don such hideous costumes for the occasion. But after the formal initiation every one could look forward to a promising year. The main project for the year was making toys and scrapbooks for the children at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. The annual Ma-Pa-and-Me banquet was held in February. It was greatly enjoyed by everyone. The Sock-Hop was held in March with proceeds going to the Riley fund. This event is always looked forward to eagerly. The programs for the regular meetings were planned by committees appointed by the girls. There were guest speakers, musical programs given by the members, and several skits by the dramatics committee. OFFICERS President . . . Dorma Crcecy Vice President . . Merlee Kerr Secretary . .
