Mr. Weems was born and reared in Meridian, Mississippi, where he received his elemenTary and high school educaTion. He earned a BA. Degree in The field of Commerce aT Mississippi STaTe College. Coming To CHS in 1944, he ioined The Commercial DeparTmenT, where he Taughf Diversified Occupa- Tions. ln 1947 he became counselor. He received his M.A. Degree from The UniversiTy of Alabama in AugusT of 1950. In 1955 he became sponsor of The STudenT Council of CHS. CenTral High School is The only school in which Mr. Weems has Taughf. CHS is his life. He is always aT The righT place aT The righT Time, ready To lend a helping hand To anyone who will accepT his kind- ness. Mr. Weems is a greaT believer in people, al- ways looking for The good in Them and Trying To help Them overcome ThaT which is wrong. Mr. Weems encourages his sTudenTs To use Their minds, noT iusf Their memories, and emphasizes The build- ing of resourcefulness and independence as much or more Than scholasTic proficiency.
