A true leader is one Who combines an intelligent spirit of progress with a deep respect for the past-one who has a sincere interest in those he leads and directs his activities always for their benefit. Our superintendent possesses all of these qualities, as Well as an unusual understanding of youth and its problems. These combined with an ability to execute his duties efficiently make Mr. Kirby P. Walker an inspira- tion and a challenge to the students of Central High School to reach their highest achievement. And so it is With pleasure and pride that the staff of the 1939 Cotton Boll dedicates this, the yearbook of Central High School, to our superintendent, Mr. Kirby P. Walker.
