The 'Fair has come to town-very little studying done. 16. New Football Jerseys received. 23. Students broke-Fair's over. November: 5, Band makes first out-of-town trip lg Tylertown. Jackson High School Band, if you please. 11. American Legion presents flag and flagstaff in pompous ceremony on school yard. 15. High school principal discovers our beloved Annual editor under boarding house table. 23. Stewart Broome elected Junior Class president. 23-4. Little Almond Eyes Chinese Operetta p1'esented. 26. School catches Meridian fever-serious malady. 29. Janitors give up trying to erase On To Meridian signs. 30. Jackson tl, Meridian ditto: Meridian still picking up what pieces are left. Whatta' trip! December: 3. Some bright person discovers that the school colors are not black and orange- they are -gold and white! 10. Much-needed school repairs begun through C. W, A. funds. 12 Burglars break in school-food for talk. 23. Kids strangely obedient and respectful at home-wonder why? 25. Dads nurse sore fingers front mouse traps set in stockings. January: l Many worthy and honorable resolutions made. 2. Many worthy and honorable resolutions broken. 3. Vtica Jubilee singers give performances. tw. First flag raising ceremony-on the coldest day of the year. 19. C. W. A. Painters' cars mysteriously tiansported to one of the interior courts- and advance Easter egg hunt following. 25. Blue Mountain Players present the Fool tno High School student is, don't worry il. 26. Troubles be-gin. February: 1. Severe case of examitus over. 3 Teachers get laughs from exam answers, b. Shakespeare proven originator of many modern slang phrases. 16. Auditorium gets new coat of paint. 21. Liquid Air demonstration at Enochs Junior High School. 22. George Washington celebration at City Auditorium. 24. Tigers win Big S Basketball Tournament. March: 11. Lloyd Everett inaugurates Spring with a light gray suit and white shoes- the oily boid! 13. Popularity contest results were published. 25. Mississippi Literary Examinations were held. Jackson scored Several times. April: 3. Hugliie Critz of the New York Giants, Mississipprs Big Time Ball Player and Walter Johnson of the Cleveland Indians spoke to the boys in chapel. 9-10. The biggest event of the year. We had a good laugh at the teachers in the presentation of Sonia. Mr. Roberts was treated badly as Count Ginwhiskeg Mr. Beckett gave us a treat, and Coach Broyles did look toilglz. 16. The Senior Social Season is at hand. Everyone wonders if he will get an invite 20. We enjoyed a holiday for the M. E. A.! and how! 26. Junior Class Burlesque. QD. C. is responsible for the laughs in that perfor- mance.l May: 11. The nervous strain is excruciating, tAll we poor seniors must take exams.J 20. Exams over-papers graded.
