Through his remarkable skill as an earwiggler Alex Fraser, a lowly Jack Rabbit, has leaped to the front in Zoo society news. He is now the chief amuser of this exclusive list, and is always in demand by the mothers of fractiozis Zoo children. There are a great number of Dears in this ultra modern Zoo but of course, these are-n't the commonplace Reindeer kind, these are the more popular Dear-dear kind. Dear Mildred Heyne, and Dear Helen Ellsworth are two of the most popular Zoo deb- utan ts this season. Defending the honor of the entire Zoo family, you find Tiger Kattmann. He wages an effective battle against all enemies of the Zoo, and even the Bull Dogs bark in a minor key when he roams abroad. The next members of the Zoological younger set are O. Jackson and Rockwell Rowe, our two Hyenas. These animals were admitted within the circle because of their peculiarly keen sense of humor-they have even been known to laugh in trig class. Strange as it may seem to the ordinary world, the Mouse is a family of endless resource and ranks high in the esteem of the Zoo inmates. All types are represented from our timid Dorothy Bethany to bold Jim Breeding, Hope springs eternal even in the animal breast and there is one bird of rather un- known type who is forever trying to imitate the other animals. VVe would be inclined to class Edwin Quinn as a Mocking Bird if it were not for the fact that his chief song is l ,audanumhlfludanum-one entirely unknown in the bird kingdom. Of course though he gives a note of extreme distinction to our menagerie. Since not even the best ofsociety is free from that bane ofman s existencwMonkeys -we have a large number of this species at the end of our list. How they got within the bounds of this exclusive number is a mystery still to the heads of the Zoo. But neverthe- less they are here-the entire Freshman class-probably thru the influence of their ancestors. VVe can do nothing whatever about this misfortune but bear our burden like the true, refined, cultured animals we are, and be content with the distinguished members of our select group. Ihe loo reporter has ferreted out a most interesting piece of news. Pursuing the stealthy tactics characteristic of them, the entire Feline family has succeeded in gaining idmittance to Cage 33 ,. The ringleader of this 'gang seems to be a Wild Cat-Henry I ee Borden. He goes horribly wild over situations which fail to meet with his approy al and mildly wild over pretty girls. In direct contrast with her rowdy cousin is Margaret Ewing the Pussy Cat, a quiet inoffensive creature who is usually seen and not heard. lhe most incorrigible members of this family is Cat Vinson Crowder who corrupts the manners of the entire group by skating about among them. The dignified member of this family is the 'I abby Lat, Nancy Forbes. She appears sweet and gentle, but she is ever ready to show her claws. Mary Tallichet, the Blue Persian, is a rare type, but alas! th rarer the type the keener the meow. The last member of these undesirables is Frances lone Spence, the cat of the Amber Eye. She prowls slyly through the corridors seeking scandal and is very apt to pounce on her prey and give a vicious dig with her merciless claws. Of course the addition of the Felines is a dark blot on the reputation of the men- agerie, but even the best families have skeletons in their closets.
