TO THE 1967 SENIORS: Congratulations! The Muskogee Board of Education, the Central High School faculty, and I are proud of the 1967 Class. We have a natural concern for each graduate as he or she goes forth into the workaday or higher educational world. It has been the desire of the Muskogee Schools to prepare you adequately to communicate, to be familiar with the principles and operation of our number system, to have a natural curiosity for the natural and scientific, to -have a greater understanding and appreciation of your cultural heri- tages, and to have an enthusiasm for our American concept of the profit and free enterprise system of economics. We sincerely hope that you will have the desire of the Athenian youth: To pass on to the next generation a little better way of life than your generation has passed to you. We believe that your educational skills, capacity for critical thinking, your vivid imagination, and industry will enable you to make a place for yourself in our social, economic, and political community. Our best wishes attend you as you go forth, whether to college, a job, or to homemaking. We be- lieve that you will give a good accounting of yourself in the competetive world of which you are a part. We pray that the ideals, high principles, and the inspiration you have received in Central High School will have prepared you to meet the challenges and problems of adulthood. We are con- fident that you will add honor, prestige, and positive good to our American way of life. Claude C. Harris Superintendent Mcssngc to Scuiars TO THE GRADU'ATING CLASS OF 1967: Congratulations to you, Class of 1967. You are the first class to graduate -from the new Central High School located at 3200 East Shawnee Street. This is the year that will always live in your memory as a milestone in your life. Your senior year has been unusual. Moving into a new high school building is something that happens to only a few of us once in a lifetime. You have endeavored to show'your ap- preciation by taking good care of the new facilities. Your goal has been to leave it as you found it: A beautiful new building. The students, faculty, and staff of Central have been proud of its heritage through the years. As a class, you helped to transplant this heritage to a new building. After .you leave this place, you will one day realize that the administration and the faculty have taken the responsibility of offering to you a program of studies and instruction which will provide a firm foundation of academic and physical training. In turn it has been your responsibility as young men and women to use every resource within yourselves and the school to obtain the maximum benefits available. I have great faith in you and I am convinced that tomorrow's world will be in good hands because of the high economic, social, political, and spiritual ideals which will be a part of your adult lives. My best wishes go with you, and I shall always be interested in you and your future. James E. Sandage Principal
