SENIORS, A good education for all boys and girls seems to be discussed by more people and in a more sincere manner today than ever before in our his- tory. It seems that America itself has begun to real- ize that its difficult problems and the many challen- ges that face all of us are going to have to be solved by men and women who have a good edu- cation. Of course, this good education must include good citizenship and everything that goes with the term. Scholarship, together with character, is of more importance today than it ever has been be- fore. Up to now you have met all requirements to become a senior in an excellent high school. You are prepared to continue your education in a splen- did manner at higher levels if you so desire. It is incumbent upon you to do your best and contribute the utmost to your community, to your state, and to your nation to the end that our country may remain the strongest and the freest nation on this earth. As I have indicated before to seniors, I envy you for the many wonderful challenges and oppor- tunities that you will encounter during the next thir- ty to seventy-five years. Good luck and the best of everything! Harry D. Simmons, Superintendent of Schools SENIORS OF I 961: CONGRATULATIONS AND TILL WE MEET AGAIN. The class of 1961 has been, is, and will con- tinue to be a great class-great in numbers, but what is more important, great in spirit, integrity, and cooperativeness. I have appreciated your ef- forts, enioyed your presence in Central, and wish you much success and happiness in the future. Now that you have graduated and are look- ing forward to a new life adventure, it is well to note that the good Lord put your eyes in front of your head, so that you can look forward most of the time. What is behind you is important only as it helps you to move forward more successfully. Your eyes are in the front of your head, but you can turn your head and see both the mistakes you have made and the good things you have done. You can learn from them and profit. No one can be sure what lies ahead, but you can look forward with the courage that comes from faith in your ability to meet any challenge. You can make the future yours, for You are the Captain of your Soul, the Master of your Fate. May the Good Lord be with you throughout your life's iourney. B. L. Wertz, Principal
