Administration MISS BERTHA M. ROBINSON Principal TO THE GRADUATES : I bid you not farewell But welcome to the distinguished family of Central High Alumni. For three years you have studied here. For three years you have grown here. You have made your friends here. Now you have come to the day when you can do without us. You will now grade your- selves. You will now make your own decisions. These decisions are new. They have never been made before. I have faith that you will make them-stand on them- and take your places in society with confidence and wisdom. Yours is a great responsibility for at this period in history we straddle two eras as wide- ly different as the Middle Ages and the Age of the Aeroplane. You stand at the threshold of the Atom Age -the Age of Miracles. As you file past at Commencement I cannot help but think, Someone among you may discover the cure for cancer. Someone among you may find the formula for peace in the world. In a democracy all of you are important- each has a destiny to fulfill-a home to build, a career to create.
