seniors star before our ver eyes ,,Ei. sci' 4 . ff. I IANUARY SENIOR PLAY-Row l - R. Littky. L. Goldstein, M. Mutchnick. R. Gottlieb. Row 2 - F. Rabinowitz. E. Goldman. I. Bernstein. I. Fields. H. Gould. Before our very eyes a group of high school seniors, under the magic hand of Mr. Clifford E. White, were transformed into polished ac- tors, and as the houselights dimmed on De- cember 3 and 4, 1953, Central's Auditorium became an imposing theater. Cheaper by the Dozen, the smash hit of stage and screen, was the play presented by the Ianuary Class of 1954, and following tradi- tion was a tremendous success. -CAST- I. Bernstein E. Goldman L. Goldstein M. Mutchnick l. Fields F. Babinowitz B Klaper N. Kurian S. Manello E. Solomon B Gottleib H. Gould R Littky L. Lipshy S Kantor L. Cohen Cheaper by the Dozen -1953- twenty-two Row 3 - S. Cantor. E. Cohen. L. Lippshy, N. Kuriun. R. Klaper. Row 4 - B. Goldstein. S. Mcmello. Mr. C. White. The play was based on the true life of Frank and Lillian Gilbreth and their twelve children. Father Gilbreth, an efficiency expert, took ad- vantage of his large family to experiment with his time-saving methods. These experiments resulted in many comical situations. Ierry Bernstein, who portrayed the father, gave an unusually superb performance as did Eleanor Goldman who played Mother Gil- breth. The story was narrated by Frank Gilbreth, lr. and Ernestine Gilbreth whose parts were taken by Lester Goldstein and Marilyn Mutch- nik. The portrayal of Ann, the eldest daughter, by Iudy Fields is deserving of much praise and her so very typical protest of, Nobody in this family understands mel will not be forgotten, along with a magnificent supporting cast. With the able assistance of Beverly Gold- stein, Student Director, a better performance could not have been seen on any Broadway Stage.
