Watkins. G. Yaker, S. Sachse, I. Green- baum. Walking down the halls of Central one can often see a student wearing a flashy blue and white sweater known as a C sweater. Be- hind this sweater is more than meets the eye. Ambitious athletes practicing, exercising, work- ing, and striving to improve skills. ln the fall it's football, in winter, basketball and swim- ming, and in spring, golf and baseball. R. Hood, H. Thomas, N. Miller, H. Komorn. Row 5 - L. Yovis, E. Folbe, N. Folbe, B. Brown, I. Miller, A. Edwards. have maintained a fair average are eligible for membership. The C club under the leadership of Coach Harold B. Kammerer has carried out worth- while activities throughout the year. C Club members are always available to act as ushers at all school events. Other events on the club's 1954 agenda included a semi-annual Athletic Awards Banquet. This banquet is for fathers and sons honoring those boys who have earn- letters. C Club members have also sold school pennants and stickers. During the fall term Bob Brent served as president, Irwin Biegle as vice-president, and Bill Stephens as secretary-treasurer. The spring term brought loe Sterns as president with Harold Thomas to assist him. Once again Bill Stephens was elected secretary-treasurer. This year, as every other year, the boys in the C Club have maintained an excellent reputation in sports. thirteen

Gold- stein. I. Alzoton. D. Hollander, E. Winelield. Selling school and senior pins, school shirts, and ushering at graduation and Athletic events, were some of the tasks undertaken by the Girl's Athletic Association this year. Also included in the year's agenda were the Let- terWomen's Banquet and Play Day, a day devoted to better acquaint the girls of Central with the girl's athletic program. The G.A.A. has a permanent membership of twenty-four. Girls who wish to join the club send in letters stating why they desire mem- bership. The letters are judged, discussed, and voted upon by the organization, Without know- ing who its author is. The club feels this eli- minates prejudice. The club, under the sponsorship of Miss Ernestine Burton, has an executive board which selects the officers of the club. Officers during the fall term included Faith Greenbaum as President, Iean Brinze as Vice-President and Audrey Katz as Secretary.
