Library Staff Lends Helping Hand Central High School is fortunate in having one of the most beautiful and best equipped libraries in the city. The library staff consists of twelve girls, who, under the direction of Miss Orah Hahn. our head librarian. try to help us use the tools of the library correctly. Students wishing to join the staff should be interested in the work and should be able to de- vote one hour a day to it: also a high academic rating is necessary. As a reward for their ser- vices members receive two and a half hours credit. While on the staff students type, slip books. and use the card catalog. If they later wish to obtain cr job in a public library it is possible to get a recommendation from Central's library, pro- vided they have done the job of a good librarian. P. A. Unity Forum Strives for Brotherhood What can we do to help create good will in our school and our community as a whole? This is the type of question that confronts the Unity Forum at its meetings. It is primarily a dis- cussion group and has the largest membership of the clubs in the school. The group has no auth- ority to take action itself, but it hopes that the members will act individually to create unity. ln the fall term the group was headed by capable president, Murray Ianower, and ably assisted by his fellow officers, vice-president, Sally Komwise: secretary, Iudy Sperka: and treasurer, Betsy Brown. Discussions were held with pupils from other schools on school spirit. Many ideas were exchanged and the meetings were a big success. In the spring term the forum showed films on brotherhood week in America and also held a discussion on racial prejudice. Officers for the spring term were president, Betsy Brown: secre- tary, Beverly Ginsberg: and treasurer, Elsie Kuf- fler. Under their guidance the forum has had a successful year.
