Early in fhe year members became acquainfed wifh our soufhern friend, Ecuador, fhrough a falk by Miss Slyfield: ofher programs included playing bingo in Spanish, and various ofher enfer- faining games. The year was climaxed by a program ioinfly sponsored wifh fhe Civic Club in celebrafion of Pan America day. Foundafions for a fine fufure were laid in fhe fall ferm under fhe guidance of club officers, Sol Sonenklar, Presidenfg Arfhur Silversfein, Vice-Presidenfg June Becker Secrefary, and Joseph Yanich, Treasurer. The Club moved info high speed in fhe second semesfer when Allan Levy, Evelyn Rap- poporf, Janice Goodman and Arfhur Shufro fook over fhe execufive posifions. Scribes from all parfs of Cenfral reversed posifions wifh fheir penmanship equipmenf fourfh hour each Tuesday, leffing fhe Quill and Scroll fake fhem in hand. Af meefings, fhey learned whaf ofher scribblers, such as Benef, O. Henry, and fellow members accomplished. Despife fhe seriousness of purpose, however, laughfer, originalify, and wif predomi- nafecl.
