The Central Honor Society was organized in 1949 for the purpose of stimulating academic achievement. Those who are members are proud to belong to this distinguished organization. Particularly proud are those who retain the required grade standard every semester. Sixteen scholarship points are now required for membership, and must be maintained for two succes- sive semesters for a student to be eligible for mem- bership. This enables him to wear the bronze pin. Four semesters entitles him to wear the silver pin, and seven semesters the coveted gold pin. The following pledge is taken by every member of the society: I pledge myself to do everything in my power to uphold the high ideals of Central High School, and I promise always to endeavor to maintain scho- lastic standards worthy of my ability.
