As we Seniors, academically gowned and capped in Central's Blue, march down the aisles at the Municipal Auditorium to the strains of Pomp and Circumstance” and take the places reserved for us, we do so with the sadness of farewell and the satisfaction of accomplishment. Four long, and tonight short, years we have been together as a class: the Freshmen of ’57, the Sophomores of '58, the Juniors of '59, and, at long last, the Seniors of 60. We try hard to show the dignified bearing of a graduate; as phantas-magorically the memorable experiences of the last four years appear and vanish on the screens of our minds: the athletic events, the cheering, the victories; our organizations, our parties and mixers, the Proms, the vacations, the assemblies; the scholastic honors, the T. V. and Radio programs, such as Bandstand,” T-V Teen Town,” and It’s in the Bag;” Centralian Day and the weird things we wrote in each other’s annuals, and Senior Day luncheon, film, and mixer; our friendships with one another and our sponsors and teachers. Really we feel much as did KoKo’s wards; From scholastic trammels free, Each a little-bit afraid is, Wondering what the world can be! Through the music and addresses we restrain our restlessness; but with the conferring of our diplomas and the flashing of cameras our nervousness is given release and we are carried through the parting of our ways with exultation for having successfully completed the first leg” of our journey through life. Central's honor and traditions have inspired us. May our records serve as ideals to challenge the Centralites that follow after us! 21
