MR. GIRARD T. BRYANT Vice-Principal No generation has yet faced a future so full of promise and excitement nor has any faced the difficult challenges of this memorable midtwentieth century. Man has, for the first time, turned his gaze toward infinity and contemplates, materialistically, exploring the known universe. Isn't it a wonderful thought to realize what an important part that You, the I960 graduates of Central High School, will play in this exotic drama of time, space, and motion? No one can predict who among you shall make the greatest contribution in this race into infinity. It may be the ones with the greatest intellects or it may be, in the words of Milton, Only those who stand and wait.” MR. ALLIS A. KEITH Vice-Principal In this age of progress and ever-expanding horizons, our country requires young men and women with vision and skill. It also needs people who understand and desire to help their fellow man, regardless of race, color or creed. The Central Faculty has provided a curriculum that satisfies the academic, vocational, and humanitarian needs of our society. Now it is you who will demonstrate to our peoples the achievement necessary for success in the arts, literatures, sciences, and vocations. It is you who will assume the leadership required to be outstanding members of our community and country. 9

May our education be used as an instrument to help sow light where there is darkness, kindness where there is hatred, pardon where there is injury, faith where there is despair, knowledge where there is ignorance, joy where there is sadness, and to seek, not so much to be understood, as to understand. MR. JAMES F. BOYD Principal 8

POLESON Counsellor This has been one of the most enjoyable years of my teaching career. .The work with the students of Central has been both interesting and rewarding—interesting in the many varied opportunities presented for helping students and rewarding in the thought that I may have helped in some small way their paths to a richer and more satisfying future.
