Y-Teens Through the Y-Teens, girls can acquire valuable friendships By helping ethers, Y-Teens become aware of world situations and make mature citizens for future Christian living. Several of the Y-Teens have attended the many conferences available in the Kansas City area. For a first semester money-raising project, Central's club had a car wash The World Fellowship Dinner at Christmas time started off the spirit of giving. Again this year the Y-Teens sold delicious candy as a money-raising project for the second semester. To wind up the year the annual Mother-Daughter banquet was held. TOP ROW: T. Wright, L. Hupens, L. Conley, R. Wynn, L. Lomette. BOTTOM ROW: H. Burbidge, C. Hudson, J. Collins, R. Frazier. Hi-Y The Central Hi-Y, under the leadership of Mr. Macey, has had the project of helping teenagers. They encourage the teenage boys to join the Y and practice being courteous, respectfu! and friendly. Social activities are planned to keep the members off the streets at night and engage in wholesome activities Another project has been to keep the Central district clean and beautiful; they strive never to be a Litter Bug. The Y had a winning basketball team, taking first place in the tournament at K. C. U. They also sponsored the Thanksgiving and Easter services here at Central 22

Howerton, J. Turley. N. Anderson. D. McKinley. J. Anderson. W. Allen, J. Briggs Horizon Club The Horizon Club of Senior Camp Fire is a national club designed for high school girls. It is for girls who are interested in camping, traveling, community service, and personality development. The two clubs at Central have been active with a combined membership of forty-five They participated in the Greater Kansas City Round-Up at Kansas City University. Linda Linville attended the Seven-State Regional Conference in Boone, Iowa. United Nations Day was observed with an Around the World Dinner. A Christmas Cheer party was provided for the children of Niles Home, climaxed with a Holiday breakfast. Margaret Fields, Linda and Elaine Linville represented the Central Horizon Club at the Seven-State Regional Horizon Club Conference in Wichita, Kansas, April 3-5. An Annual Recognition Service was held May 24 at the home of Mrs. Russell Stover. With the aid of their sponsor, Mrs. E. W. Zenor, this year's Horizon Club program was a complete success. Science Club The newest club at Central High School is the Science Club, which was started this year by Mr. Johnson, science teacher. The club is limited to freshmen and sophomores. The members of the club put their knowledge of science to good use by making science projects. They watch their crude ideas shape up into projects good enough to be entered in the Science Fair.
