First Semester Student Council Officers LEFT TO RIGHT: Jock Hefter, Nancy Shull, Miss Leiben-good, Earl Evans, Pete Peterson, Wayne Shipley, Koren Mosteller, Tim Frazier. Under the capable direction of Miss Rebekah Leibengood and President Earl Evans, the first semester Student Council accomplished numerous tasks. Notes of sympathy were sent to faculty members and students in case of serious illnesses or deaths of members of the immediate families; the Cafeteria Committee organized a crew of boys to aid in the cafeteria during each lunch shift to clear the lunch tables; and the Student Council Cabinet selected students most representative of Central to participate on Heart of America Bandstand. A profitable first semester Student Council was the result of many duties performed by the cabinet, representatives, and faculty cooperating together for betterment of the greatest school ever— CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL' First Semester Student Council: From Sympathy Cards to Bandstand BOTTOM ROW: J. Second Semester Student Council Officers : f F r ro RIGHT Consuelo Espono, Miss Leibengood, Bob Rtchordson, Eorl Evons, Woyne Studyvin, Jeanne Zmek, Bob Braunmger, Don Austin. The first important event that the Second Semester Student Council was confronted with was that of backing the American Field Service drive to sell enough shares for next year's Foreign Exchange Student. With the aid of Central's present exchange students and others throughout the city, the campaign was a success. Central students were the guests on TV Teentown, February 25, presenting the best show ever. This year, instead of an exchange assembly, it was decided to have a talent assembly. The problem which arose because of the excessive amount of litter found on and around the school's premises was taken over by the Council. The Student Council and officers are to be commended on a job well done for promoting the development and participation of self-government in furthering the unity of the student body.
