9. .9 if -s'iii' I ,597-flfie-' X I F acul it Mr. Paul M. Marshall, Principal 8 I have been intrigued by the title of a bulletin I recently received, Invest in America. The thought came to me, what have the three hundred boys and girls who are graduating from Central High School invested in America. Time, that most valuable asset of all, three years they have spent. Money, yes! Not only their own, for education is not free, but the resources of the community have been spent. Energy has been utilized. What was the goal? Individually it has been a preparation for living a successful life. The community invested for the future of America, that the recipients of this education might be better producers of goods, that they might keep the great American Spiritg with the imagination, the coura e, the will to do that was developed by our forefathers. The Investment in America, especia ly our program of Education, is for free minds that will keep us free, and this expenditure of time, effort and money is to achieve, in the main, this one result. It is my trust that the expenditure of all the time, money and effort of us all, parents, teachers and students, has been for you an investment that will insure the survival of our fabulous America as a free and Christian land. These are inspiring days in which we live. VVe are challenged at every turn to meet the new problems of preparing for a more efficient life. VVe must bring new zeal and new vision to our work that we may grow with the times. VVhile Central excels in preparing boys and girls for college entrance, it has become increasingly important to prepare others to go immediately into the fields of industry and business. VVe know that our school does a fine job of general education that will help one no matter what his vocational choice. Vile are proud of Central and we believe in it. VVe know that here young men and young women are growing to fine manhood and womanhood. Let us re-dedicate ourselves to preparing for the tasks ahead, Loyally yours, ANCUS F. Bmtnv, l'ice-Principal.
