To W. W. Clement, principal of Central during our four years in high school, in appreciation of his service to us 'ibeyond the call of dutyf' we gratefully dedicate this 1952 Centralian. We appreciate his preserving the rich heritage of Central. We appreciate his keeping up with modern devices in providing us with a concert grand piano, a public address system, and audio-visual equipment. We appreciate his hearty cooperation in the campaign to secure uniforms for our band and cheerleaders. We appreciate his encouraging us to be friendly by permitting us to have Hello Day and Senior Day. We appreciate his encouraging our scholarship and for making the Honor Society more meaningful, and for increasing the importance of the Student Council and Pep Club. We appreciate his teaching us the democratic process in encouraging campaign speeches, student elections, and student representation on school committees. We appreciate his cooperation in the Follow-Up plan for graduates. We appreciate his sense of value of subject matter, both curricular and extracurricular, his recognition of the proportionate relation of departments, and his encouragement of teacher and pupil relationship. All these have been important factors in literally hundreds of us receivin honors, awards, and scholarshi s. These awards, earned b classes, rou s, or ani- ' S P Y 3 P S zations, teams and individuals, reflect credit, not only on us students, but also our school, as these statements from industrialists and educators so well show: We wish to congratulate your school most heartily upon the distinct achieve- ment of these students. Congratulations to you and your faculty for the high standard of instruction and supervision reflected in your students' worlcf, We appreciate his impressing us with the idea that ours is a senior high school and that our behavior should reflect that fact. We most especially appreciate his educational philosophy that each student, regardless of aptitude and finance, should have guidance and opportunities that will enable him to leave school qualified for a well-adjusted and successful life and so become a useful and patriotic citizen, not only of America, but of the world. l 5
