Many of Central ' s (J alumni have fought and died for their country. M , The circus theme of the Centralian might seem inappro- priate to many people in such times as these, but we were trying to get away from the war theme to something more ful when we chose it. In any event, we, the staff, hope you will like this book and cherish it for many years.

His understanding of human nature, his genuine interest in people and their problems, his friend- liness and kindliness with young and old, have endeared him not only to us, but to thousands of others who are scattered over the world today. By progressive planning, tireless industry and keen judg- ment, he has become an outstanding leader in the field of education and has been the guiding force which has placed Central High on its present high plane of efficiency. Our earnest wish for him is many more years of useful service in his chosen field.
