Yet it presents to you real oppor- tunities. For the first time in years you can get work if your record here has been at all satis- factory. You are also urged everywhere to continue your training in college for as great a time as you can afford, or for as long a time as your preparation increases your usefulness to your country. You and your parents will have to choose between the two roads. In either case we hope that what you have learned here will help you to succeed. Bess G. Clapp O. F. Dubach Principal lil IRM R. O. Wynne Latin lust a few more weeks and We shall have finished another school year. Such great changes have taken place dur- ing this time that few of us can realize the tur- moil in which the World is. The most destruc- tive of all wars is being waged: democracy, with its ideals and methods, is being chal- lenged by dictatorships. Hatred, suspicion and jealousy are maliciously taking advantage of love, confidence and fellowship. On youth falls the burden of bringing order out of this chaos. It is our duty and yours to overthrow the enemy: but yours to establish the new order of brotherhood and equality which will assure a lasting peace. Youth will have the strength and intelligence to succeed. Each of you has an important part in the reconstruction. Search diligently for it and assume the responsibility. The futu.re of the world is in your hands. C. O. Williams, Vice-Princi pal ? Page 1 l
