She was edu- cated in Warrensburg Teachers College and Mis- souri Valley College, and has been connected with the Kansas City schools many years, having taught in Greenwood, Benton, Irving, and Blenheim. Although frail in body for the last few years, she always kept the interest of the school child at heart. She was patient with the pupils, thus enabling them to bring out the best that was in them. Miss Levy had real humor and was able to appre- ciate and enjoy the wit of others. She was a person unusual in the versatility of her interests. Most of her time was devoted to teaching, but she possessed dramatic and literary ability and had taken Part in many plays at the Resident Theatre. Miss Levy was active in her church and she will be greatly missed there as well as in her school. The death of this teacher, who gave such fine service for many years to the education of children, will be a suere loss to all who knew her. Page 5 Students at Central High were shocked to hear, the afternoon of April 4, that Albert Lipsey had died during the morning after only a week's illness. He had lived all his life in Kansas City, Missouri, hav- ing attended Horace Mann, Central Junior, and Central Senior high schools. Since he was twelve years oltl, Albert had been a scout in Troop Number 61 and would have become an Eagle the week following his death, for he had passed practically all of his merit badges. As an out- standing leader of the organization, he had been a junior counselor and lifeguard at the Scout Camp in Osceola, Missouri, last summer. Al possessed the cherished claw of Mic-0-say, the highest honor a scout can achieve. He was a regular member of the Sunday school and congregation at the Keneseth Israel Beth Sholom Synagogue. Albert was looking forward to commencement. He had been a popular member of the Senior Class and had formed lasting friendships. His classmates will long remember him for his sterling qualities of character. His was the type of young person that is dignified, yet friendly, quiet, though enthusiastic, unobtrusive, yet influential. EW-A - r l Al
