oaewozb O MAKE this book distinctly a student publication, accur- ately reflecting student tastes and attuned to student interests, to make it both modern and eminently individual, yet free from any suggestion of freakishness, to enhance its value by the inclusion of more snapshots, more decorative and illustra- tive drawings, and more feature material and in this way to return to our patrons the profits realized upon last year's an- nual through the loyal support of the student body and the efficiency of the l935 staff-these three objects have moti- vated the present staff in the planningof this book. Humor plus a new freedom of style and expression are characteristic of this volume and will be noticed in the illus- trative drawings, particularly the subdivision pages, as well as in the write-ups themselves. Originality is noticeable in the complete abandonment of the time-honored practice of building the book around an artificial theme , and in thc substitution of a saner system of organization based upon a careful grouping of related material into three divisions headed by illustrations suggestive, not only of school lifc, but of the particular phase of school life reflected in the par- ticular unit. In size, type of cover, and general arrangement. except for the particulars just mentioned, the book is the same as last year. We can only hope that it will meet with your entire approval. l4l
