Glass all MONG the many memories cherished by every senior is included that year at Central Junior when, as mere fresh- men, they looked forward to the journey across the athletic field and into the mystic realm of higher education. Then the leaders designated bv the class at large were: President, Barney Goldberg, vice-president, Bob Keller, secretary, Beth Young, and treasurer, Margaret Learned. At last the exciting transition took place, after which these newly arrived Centralites longed for the day when they would cease to be scorned sophomores. The main event of the junior year was marked by their initiation into senior high activities and the election of class officers. The results of this balloting made Bob Keller, president, and Lina Mae jenkins, Don VVesto11, Dorothy Schreiber, Remmel Young, and Erma Gene Wunderlich, aides. The honor of being Frances Scarritt Hanley girl went to two Girl Reserves, Mary Jean Heinlein and Beth Young, the latter serving as Girls' Hi-Y president throughout the year. john Howard and Bob Keller were first and second term presidents, respectively, of Boys' Hi. The main problems confronting the Student Council this last year were safety, school cleanliness, and the preven- tion of vandalism. The Council also sponsored the school mixers, which were made successful by the music of 'LBud Replogle and his orchestra. In athletics the main feat of the year was the victory of Central's basketeers, who cap- tured second place in the Interseholastic League. The activ- T181 9.
