Y - I K Sixty-seven years ago, a little high school was founded in Kansas City by a group of men and Women who realized that the education of youth is the prime responsi- bility of a communityfthat material growth must be attended by esthetic progress. From this modest start, the Central of 1934 has developed. The achievements of her students have vvon for Central an honored place among institutions of learning. States- men, doctors, lawyers, artists, musicians-men and women from all Walks of life- claim Central as their Alma Mater and cherish her memory with the birth of their ambitions and dreams. Travelers tell us of a point in ireland where the rays of the rising and setting suns mingle. We purpose to malce our book such a point, where memories of the Worth and vvorlt of students of the past may mingle with the mystic rays which forecast events of the future. It our book causes Central students to reflect with gratitude upon the founders of our school and to appreciate their influence upon the youth of the future, it will have attained its purpose. Among the public-spirited citizens who were instrumental in founding Central were l-lenry C. Kumpf and E. l-l. Spaulding.
