Amused over an argument used in their debate are seniors Bill Murray and Iackie Frazier. Debate Team Wins in Many Carefully inspecting some of the new equipment and being shown its proper useage to a couple of very interested Forensic students is Mr. Lawrence Sunberg, sponsor. Tournaments Central High debate team finished their most successful completion in 15 years, with a 17 man team. They com- piled 97 wins against 65 loses in a rec- ord score of 162 rounds of competi- tion. The best win lose recorded of 26-4 went to senior jackie Frazier. The de- bate team scored a first place victory in the first Bay County debate Champion- ship. They scored third place in the novice division scoring 3 out of 23. The junior Varsity team scored fourth place at the same tournament out of 25 teams. They took seventh place out of 52 teams in the Gold Cup Debate Invi- tational at U. of M. For the first time, the debaters successfully advanced from district competition and partici- pated in the Michigan High School Forensics Association regionals Febru- ary twelvth. District winners were Bill Murray and Sara C-oddeynne on the affirmative and Sophomore jeff Mono and jackie Frazier on the negative. After regionals, competition begins in Spring Forensics. academics X25
