Business Education Department 1 .1 V 1 ' ,fra , 'i A it t ' f H is' A ' ff! . 5911 R .K et4t,tt mtt, o sg 'x Mr. Jacobs-Head of the Business Education Department The main objective of the Business Education Department is to provide the student with an understanding of basic economic areas. He learns to make sound decisions, and to perform many necessary functions correctly. Some of these are borrowing money, giving credit, buying insurance, and paying taxes. In short, the student is given a chance to become successful in business, and as a citizen. Special skills are offered to further this end. They are typing, shorthand, and general oH'ice work. nfl, 'lil Music Department The main objective of the Music Department is to help the student de- pvelop an appreciation of good music. it ,X H -1, ,u i This department believes that stu- Awxmab Mr. Cramer and Mr. Campbell 1, ff R! f-dents who participate in the music pro- ' gram tend to lead richer lives because Our Band Bounce Bosses Mr. Cady of their musical experience. The school orchestra of over fifty musicians performs at various school functions: the Christmas Assembly, the operetta, the Festival of Music, Parents' Night, the exchange assemblies, and, of course, Band Bounce. Central's Band, particularly in the marching season, contributes much to the character development of the stu- dent. He learns to be loyal, reliable, punctual, and responsible. He works hard to develop co-ordination and stamina. The vocal department helps to im- prove the speaking voice besides giving the student the opportunity to study singing and music. The A Cappella choir and the band also participate in the different programs sponsored by Central.
