Briggs, whom you recognize with the Board of Edu- cation, is the head of the Bay City Public Schools. He is directly respon- sible to the Board of Education, and because of his tireless efforts and work with the Board, the Bay City Public School System is known as an out- standing school system. Central High School with its third tloor of Iunior Col- lege is the largest plant in the city system, and a friendly relationship ex- ists between Mr. Briggs and the Board of Education and Central High School. Central is proud of its men behind the men behind the students. To them we say, Thanks for everything. DEANS AND COUNSELORS The two Deans at Central play an important part in the lives of the students. Helping students adjust to a new school, helping students plan their programs, helping students plan their careers - all this and more come under the work of the Deans. The Grade Counselors help to keep the students on the job. Your presence in or your absence from school is always known to your particular grade counselor. The attendance record at Central High School is good, and the credit for that fact may be placed directly at the doors of the Grade Counselors. Principal and Vice- Principal GLENN A, QMANS THEODORE SOUTHERLAND Everyone knows these two gentlemen. They may be seen working in their respective offices or walking briskly through Centra1's halls. Mr. Glenn A. Omans and Mr. Theodore B. Southerland have been the Principal and Vice- Principal respectively of Central High School for the past two years. As the administrative heads of the school, their responsibilities are great, for Education is a big business and a very important business too. Mr. Omans and Mr. Southerland stand behind the policies of Central and are ready to take care oi problems which cannot be handled by the classroom teachers. Discipline problems are included, and both men have many times helped a student find his way.
