The mosl illuslrious class ol Freshmen lhal ever graced her spacious halls lenl lheir learning. Ed Mull- holland and his corps ol willing helpers. in- cluding Fern Brown, vice-presidenl: Janel Carver, secrelary: Emily Balcer, lreasurer, and Ted' Buda, sergeanl-al-arms, cour- ageously led us lhrough our lreshman and sophomore years. During lhe course ol lhe year, an all-school play was presenled, Janel Carver and Francis Flannery being lhe only members ol our class lo have parls in lhe casl. The lirsl slage ol our journey being compleled in spile ol lhe obslacles laid in our way by lhe lolly Seniors and bolhersome upper classmen, we found lime l'o pause in our progress and choose new olilicers. The lirsl meeling ol lhe Junior year was called on March l I, l932, and a nominaling commiH'ee including Al Hamlin, Marie Brams, Thane Kuhlman, Eleanor Bowen, and Roberl Alslon, was appoinled. On March l6, a second meeling was held and our new leaders chosen. Al Hamlin was elecled presidenl: Emily Baker, vice-presidenl: Her- man Barlling, lreasurer: Margarel Lindsay, secrelary, and Howard Davis, sergeanl-al- arms. Our new presidenl's lirsl ollicial acl was lo direcl lhe seleclion ol our class sponsors, wilh lhe resull lhal Miss Harris and Mr. MacDonald were chosen. Fairly launched inlo ils Junior year, lhe class now slrucli ils slride and slepped proudly on lowards ils goal. We decided al a laler meeling lo have a parly al Slale Park. llah Jones was appoinled general chairman and under her slcilllul guidance lhe parly proved a success. Our new principal, Mr. Hamillon, ad- vocaled a plan ol Sludenl Governmenl which was readily accepled and supporled by lhe sludenl body. Here, as always, lhe class showed ils dislinclion by being repre- senled in all lhe deparlmenls ol govern- menl. Roberl Alslon was our lirsl vice-presi- denl: William Gaffney, Dorolhy Gibson, and Charles lsaclcson represenled us in lhe senale: David Clemenl and Lucile Broolcs were members in good slanding ol lhe Sludenl courl. The opening ol lhe lall semesler broughl a concenlralion in alhlelics, chiel ol which was loolball. Six ol lhesmembers ol our class upheld lhe purple and gold banner in lhis sporl: Herman Barlling, Rex Edgelle. Vern, Edgelle, Ferris Edgelle, Gordon All- man, and Fred Slein. Added lo lhis indica- lion ol physical prowess in our class, our versalalily was lurlher proven when Richard Dixon, Russell Ball and Fred Newman car- ried class lradilion inlo lhe debaling field. In olher lines ol endeavor, includingbaslcel- ball, soccer, swimming, and olher aclivilies. lhe following deserve credil: Herman Barl- ling, Fred Slein, Gordon Allman: and in lhe girls' sporls Marie Brams, Dorolhy Markham. Belly Aclcermann, Jane Bowden, llah Jones Miriam Alla, Bealrice Ronalds. Helen Howard, Lucile Brooks, Cornelia Gougeon, Marian Allan, Eleanor Bowen, and Addie Culhberl. Al a meeling held Seplember 22, plans were discussed for a J-Hop. Ed Mullholland was appoinled general chairman. 'The alfair was engineered by Mr. Mullholland and was nol only a credil lo lhe chairman, bul an added highlighl in lhe social calendar of lhe school year. We had now advanced inlo our Senior year and were pushing on lowards lhe lop wilh Miss Beese's willing help. ln an eleclion lor ollicers, we decided lo mainlain Mr. Hamlin's leadership. The ollices ol vice- presidenl, secrelary, lreasurer. and ser- geanl-al-arms were ably lilled by Eleanor Bowen, Benlon Clover, Miriam Alla, and Ted Buda respeclively. Our only social evenl ol lhe year was a parly held al Slale Park. Cornelia Gougeon and Philip Norlh were chairmen ol lhe evenl. Al 'rhis lime, lhe Sludenl Union presidenl, Howard Taylor,
