' Senior Class Prophecy I I As we look into the dim, hazy, but rapidly brightening future we see the Senior Class of 1955 taking their places as able and responsible citizens and leaders of America. As we visit Broadway in New York, we find Miss Dorothy Fultz the leading vocalist of that metropolis. We also find the Fred Astaires of the future, Paul Booker, P. J. Jackson and Clenzie Kyles dancing their way to stardom. Ah yes, the women with the helping hand-the nurses. We find Geraldine Anderson, Sarah Parker, Willa Tyes, Warnetta Hines and Martha Frazier capable and responsible nurses at the Homer G. Phillips Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. As we stop at the local newstands we find the picture of Miss Pearl Kyles, professional model for the leading fashion magazines in the country. As long as children are being born and are growing up, there will be a need for teachers. We find little but lovely, quiet June Seay teaching Elementary Education at Oakland, Calif. We now travel to McKesson, Wisconsin where we find Rowe Haywood, Head Chemist at McKesson Chemical Company and his private secretary-capable Miss Jean Seay. As long as women have hair on their heads there will be a need for beauticians. We find Willa Feltus and Maeretha Davis owners and operators of the swank Park Lounge Beauty Parlor. It seems as if some of our high school athletes are going further by becoming baseball players. In the 1958 World Series we find M. C. White, joseph Mayfield, Eural Wilson and Zane Gilmer the backbones of the National League team. We find Lucius James the forward and high point man for the New York Knickerbockers, pro basketball team. On the cultural and musical side of life we find Professor Freddie Hayes, director of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. We find Bennie Caldwell, Industrial Art instructor at dear ole Central High School and we find John Cooper taking over aged and retiring Coach Smith's job as coach of Central High. There are others who will eventually find their places in life. As years go on we, the class of the year One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty-Five, will succeed for we are striving to live by our class motto: They Can Conquer Who Believe They Can.
