SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In July, 1946, eighty-four green Freshmen entered school to be- gin. their four years at Central High School. At the first meeting, the following officers were elected: President, Raymond Powellg Vice- President, Alex Cooperg Secretary, Savannah Howard and Treasurer, Virginia Parham. A highlight of the year was a Talent Program that 'was presented as an awembly program in the summer. Miss Odessa Roberts was our sponsor. In the summer of '47 our class enrollment had decreased to 64. We elected Alma Welch for President, Alex Cooper, Vice-Presidentg Mattie P. Ketchum, Secretaryg and Virginia Parham, Treasurer. A 'highlight of our Sophomore year was a farewell party in honor of our class spoonsor, Miss Odessa Roberts. In our Junior year, with 47 members, we elected Alma Welch for President, Alex Cooper, Vice-President, Mattie Ketchum, Secretary: and 'Lamar Wilsn, Treasurer. One of the main features of this year was our presentation of the play Bound to Marry. In order to raise money for the Junior-Senior Prom, many social activities were given, such as parties, plays, and entertainments. The Junior-Senior Prom was very successful. Our sponsor was Miss Deboe. In our Senior year, only 37 members enrolled. We elected Alex Cooper, Presidentg Alma Welch, Vice President, Cora Spence, Secre- tary: and Lamar Wilson, Treasurer. We had few social affairs, be- cause we were looking forward to the one great affair- graduation. Our sponsor was Miss Deboe. . I To dear Old Central, we say goodbye, but we shall never forget you. We will always do that which will lift up your name and strive to live up to your teachings. Through this means, you will know that your work has not been in vain. u.
