ENGLISH , Doctor, lawyer, merchant, chief, One of these may or may not fit your future position in life, but, Whether it does or not, a good English background is essential for any one of them. We at Central can be proud of our fine English department which offers three differ- ent courses to provide us with one which suits our basic requirements. Miss Marjorie Dornberg heads the speech classes and the radio workshop. The importance of speaking correctly is brought out when students hear the recordings of their voices played back to them. Miss Dornberg also is very active in planning assemblies.

PAGE TEN My time is your time, and truly what would life at Central be Without it? Miss Olive Allen and the students of journalism strive to make the school paper, the Times, more inter- esting and better in all ways. Her regular school day is filled with English and journalism classes. Besides teaching, English, Miss Marion Munson acts as advisor to the World, the school's literary magazine. Many hours of hard Work are spent on this in order to put out a splendid piece of literary publication. Here she is helping the editors solve their problems. ' ' 1

va ji. Miss Elizabeth Stroble, our art teacher, is helping pupils from her class prepare a cut for printing. The results of many pupils that she has taught may be seen every day in her classroom. Miss Arlys Denzel, our music teacher, teaches her pupils to appreciate the tonal values of the musical scale. Her fine contralto voice has added much to making our assemblies more enjoyable.
