MRS. TOPDAHL' SPEAKS TO THE SENIORS A free and enlightened youth must realize and understand well the great principles and causes on which that happiness and life depend. Future wars must be prevented and peace and progress promoted, but this will be accomplished only through the training we seek today. We cannot be educated in a postwar world with prewar and outdated thinking. This age 'calls for forward-looking youth who are willing not only to train their minds in scientific and global think- ing but also in spiritual and human understanding. With such training wegwill be better able to meet and conquer the problems of a fost-mov- ing world, thus better preparing our- selves to live happily in peace and to make contributions to an age of im- provementf' Mrs. Topdahl bedicatiQn f High school graduates again are fortunate in having the opportunities of peace offered tio' them. We have been taught the democratic Ways of life. the great principles of equality, freedom, and truth. We have been made to under- standhthe, responsibilitiesiof peace are as 'great as those of war.
