These past years we have all come face to face with reality-a reality so new and strange to us that it is hard to comprehend. During this time it has been important for us to have someone to whom we may turn for guidance and reassurance, a person with proper foresight, a friendly manner, and patience at all times. Our class adviser, Miss Ruby Moe, has filled such a place for us. Knowing that we shall long after look back with gratitude and with appreciation of her work, the class of '43 dedicates the Cehisean to her.

Genhal and The high school is rapidly becoming the educational terminal for most boys and many girls except those entering two or three professions such as medicine or engineering, or who may be udeferred' for a season to more adequately prepare themselves for combat service. We find ourselves, therefore, plunged headlong into those changes in curriculum and emphasis which were only dimly perceived at the time of the 1942 issue of the Cehisean. Central front' is no misnomer. The high school front is just as distinct and perhaps just as important as any other phase of the home front in an all out Warfare. Our pre-induction courses, our physical fitness program, our artici a ion in s am sa es an sa va e rives o e er wi a p pt tpl d lgd ,tgth th growing earnestness of purpose upon the part of a majority of our pupils, comprise some of the elements of this front. The fact that many boys, who were with us a year ago, are now with the army or the navy on every battle front, gives us the feeling that we, as a school, have an active part to play in this War. Notwithstanding our preoccupation with the war effort, we are not forgetting that the fundamental business of the high school is to do our part in passing on to its pupils the inheritance received from past generations, and to assist them to prepare themselves for the best possible life both in the near and more remote future.
