Men forget the sharp edges of a stern world and succumb to the strains from the magniti- cent organ or a symphony orchestra playing in per- fect harmony. In its less serious moments it offers diversions for the simpler mind, municipal entertain- ments, pageants, and even circuses which its flexible architecture makes pos- sible.
