SECOND ROW: Lila johnson, Shirley Ferguson, Sue Gotts, Nakita Lester FIRST ROW: Marvin Gerson, Edna Mae Leech, Fred Capalongan, Sam Thompson, Jr., Rosemary Major, Don sENloR CLASS The senior class of '51 came to Central as confused sophomores. Being just This Side of Innocence, we were be- wildered by the activities of enrolling and fascinated by the new sound system. To begin our activities at Central, we elected John Brown as our class president. To start the year off right, the student council gave a sock-hop in our honor. In our junior year, we were led by Marvin Gerson and john Brown. One of the highlights of the school year was our junior play, Our Hearts Were Young and Gay. Another big event was the junior-Senior Prom, planned and financed by the junior class. Our junior year was certainly a big success, and what's more, we still had our senior year to look forward to! In the fall of 1950, we returned to Central with the wonderful feeling that at last the big year was here! We were seniors, and in the spring, during Commencement Week, we could stop and Rest and Be Thankful for our three won- derful years at good old O. H. S. Sam Thompson, serving as our class president both semesters, led the class through our many and varied activities. The junior-Senior Prom was a great success, and the last two weeks of May were filled with our senior play, senior assembly, and Commencement exercises. Yes, our senior year was certainly glorious, and a year we will always remember.
