Near the close of the school year we regretted having to announce the death on May 4-, 1942, of Mr. Frederick J. Brunner, the well known and popular swimming instructor here at Central. Throughout the twenty- five or more years of service in our school, he has played an important part in the training of hundreds of boys, many of whom have attained places of renown as championship leaders on college teams while count- less others have learned the value of true sportsmanship in character development.
