 11-school play helen keller’s lifeT rought to chs undcr'tfle direction of miss gillie becKqr and luann per- shall, “the-miracle worker” was presented on novem- ber 14 and 15. tfc pJay described the life of the blind helen keller, ( uline trainque). her teacher, annie sullivan, undertook the task of teaching helen. the play showed her problems, her failures, and finally, her victory, members of the play were as follows: eilleen powers as annie sullivan; gail richards as kate keller; bob Sidney as captain keller; dave hogbin as james keller; martha paulos as aunt cv; bill lewis as percy; mary ienell as martha; jim halbrooks as the doctor; dave cuevas as anag- nas; bonnie milne as viney; and the blind girls. Anne Sullivan (Eileen Powers) suffers a severe headache after a recent eye operation. 27

prom “playn truth” vibrates for “carribean seascape” deciding on the theme carribean seascape, prom chairmen for 1971 delved into sinking their ideas on color schemes, decors, and choice of musical group and locale to put together the prom scene, for the first time prom was held at the blackhawk hotel instead of the col ballroom, providing the music was playn truth from 8 to 11:30 p.m. behind the event, planning the necessary enchantment were senior, pam hanson, and junior, jim fry. faculty chairman was miss judy vukelich. for the finale of the evening, most couples attended private parties or joined friends for “special” treats at area restaurants before closing their eyes sometime in the early morning hours. Amidst a myriad of sparkles, gra- cious mannerisms, and fragrant flo- ral scents, couples relax with friendly chatter in small groups. 26
