A new hobby has been undertaken by members of the Radio Club — building radios from a kit. This interest has strengthened their understanding of the basic radio fundamentals as well their ability to repair radios. A field trip to a local radio station highlighted the year’s activities. ninety—two RADIOS ARE BUILT Sponsor — Mr. Dan Wallace. Members are: Darvin Alley, Keith Alley, Larry Ash- croft, Dennis Davis, Marvin Hansley, Virgil Holt, David Joyner, Wayne Kight, Robert Kimber, Michael Lash, Tommy Rucker, and Mark Smith.

ApSUCCESSFULSYEAR “Central Chatter.’’ the student newspaper is printed by the Publication Staff of Central High School. In printing the newspaper, the staff participated in interviewing, te- porting news, and taking pictures of student activities. Six issues were printed during the school year. In addi- tion to their activities related to printing, the staff took field trips which included visits to the offices of the Winston-Salem Journal and Sentinel. Many areas of science are studied by Central’s Science Club. The Club participated in field trips that were telated to the topics studied.
