Those Representative Boys li-v Uonalfl Dell HIS Yl'ifXli. in addition to our Repre- scntatlvc Girls. Central has inaugurated .1 similar plan consisting of a selected group of Representative Boys. This group is made up of three boys outstanding in dependability. leadership, service. and patriotism. They are selected by the senior class at large , Those receiving this scho- lastic honor are jack Shedd, John Wallior. and Donald Dell. These boys say : ,lack Shedd- Whatever you take with you upon leaving Central High you have truly earned. At one time or another you must have put forth just enough energy to equalize the learning which you have acquired. As the old saying goes, 'you canit get something for nothing., So it is with your education. l feel Certain that the class of 1938 has really made a record in Central High and deserves a place a- mong its everlasting memoirsf' John lVallior-Hschool treats the pro- blems of life. Its aim is to make the pupil feel that the city and community' in which he lives belongs to him, and that the public welfare depends upon his attitude towards scholastic problems. Its purpose also is to install the love of freedom and cooperation. Function rather than struc- ture of school is emphasized throughout. Your better friendships and acquaintances are made at schoolf, Donald Dell- Science has forever been striving to invent a machine that would be one hundred per cent efficient. Such a machine exists and has existed for many years. That machine is the school. You get out exactly' what you put into it or more. Hours of work and studying are put into this super machine and they come out a finished and polished product. This pro- duct can he used over and over again in later life. It can never be lost. This pro- duct is knowledge. Representative boys-Jack Shedd, John Wallior. and Donald Dell were chosen Central's representative boys on the hasis of being outstanding in depend!- ability. leadership. service, and patriotism.
