fhe present structure was used for high school and Junior hlgh school until 19.16 and 37 when the bulldmg ln lts present torm was completed fhe Grant Townshlp bulldlng was completely destroy ed by fue 1n February 1936 Grade Muslc was lntroduced ln 1909 with Mlss Tasa Cllfford 1n charge Physical Education 1n 1912 vuth O M Aldrldge In charge and Ilome Economlcs ln 1915 with Mlss Goff ln charge lhe ye xr 1949 brolght us another new and lmportant mllestone the add1t1on of our neighbors Smlth Township to our school unlt and the chan lllg ot our school name Irom Swltz Llty Hlgh Qchool to SWltL Clty Central Schools With It comes a challenge to keep our school on such a high plane that others will desire to become a part of our system The graduatlng class of th1S year has seen many lmprovements added to our school during their course IH high school under the dlrectlon of our prlnclpal CL rt1s G Wllson One of the most lmportant of these was the addition of a cafeterla and hot lun h program 1n the summer of 1941 In that same year one of the rooms was converted lnto a first aid room wlth the graduatlng class of 1948 contrlbutlng the furnlture In this ame year a chemvstrv den rtment w s added with the first class being taught ln 1948 and 49 In the summer of 1948 a new bulldlng of three looms xx as erected whlch was to be used for band muslc agrlculture and shop classes In the same ye r the lncr ased number of first grade students necessitated forming a class conslstlng of portlcns of the first and second grade classes The graduating classes of the past wears haxe ilso helped m the xmprox ement of oLr school bv contrlbutmg glfts to the school each wear To us as members of our beloved school both students and facultv it IS given to ralse our standards hlgher and hlher so that our gladuates will alu '13s be ln the front ranks of ex erv endeavor and not cnlv bring cxedlt to ourselx es but to tl e c mmUH1tX ln vs hlch we lne and Work r . . . .
