lumor Semor Recephon On a dellghtful sprmg evemng Aprll 29 1949 the two upper classes of the Swltz Cltv Central Schools met together at Canyon Inn IH McCorm 1ck Creek State Park for the annual Junlor Senior Receptlon Early arrlvals treated themselves to a stroll ln the rustlc beauty of the park grounds and at 6 30 everyone assembled together for the ban quet The candle llghted tables were beautlfully decorated 1n red and whmte and blue and whlte the respect1ve colors of the Junlor and semor classes The theme of the receptlon the 49 ers was carrled out 1n the place cards memory books and favors whlch were mlnlature bronze horses and covered wagons The three course dlnner whlch mcluded our favorltes frled chlcken and 1ce cream was served and enjoyed along wlth group slnglng guests the semors Russell Staker responded as presldent of the semors After dlnner as all relaxed the Junlors represented by 1lfIaX1l'lC Hamlln and Bonme Borders gave the prophecy Maxme and Bonme were pretended passengers on a make bel1eve tra1n They predlcted some good and some d1re thmgs for the semors After thls the semors conducted funeral servlces for the body of the semor class represented bv Jack Glbson The body 1n lts coffln was borne ln bv pallbearers and placed before the guests Members of the semor class then acted out ln playlet form the w1ll of the body of the semor class Everyone agreed when these aCt1V1t1eS were over that a httle recrea t1on would be welcomed whereupon they retlred to the play room for dancmg and games The concensus of oplnxon was as lt IS every year thls one was the best one ever Special guests were the school offlclals and WIVES and the faculty wxth thelr husbands and wlves . l l .
