Svrhnnl 691' Qinmmrrrv Today, more than ever before, young women are entering the profession and all training looking toward commercial and business efficiency is growing increasingly valuable. Young women who desire to enter tI1e field of business or who wish to fit themselves to become reliable secretaries will find in the Commercial and Business Administration Course of Central College both a thorough training in subject matter and an atmosphere of refinement and religious and social environment encouraging the highest achievement and preparing most thoroughly for a successful career. In addition to the regular Commercial studies, English, Arithmetic, Commercial Geo- graphy, Social Science and other subjects are corellated that the student may be qualified to meet exacting requirements. lfebruary lUESureIy have put in a full day. I took time off and went to visit the Commercial Department. I had Commercial work in High School and my curiosity was aroused to know how much I remembered. I hadnit beeen i11 the room five minutes until I found out. They had a speed test and I took the opportunity to see how well I remembered the key board. It. wouIdn't do to tell, and the shorthand -VVhcwI I don't remember hardly a11y of the rules'-I doubt whether I could even spell ucatf' Never before did I fully realize the difference betwen High School and College. You go about twice as fast in a subject in the latter and it is up to you to see that you do. It isn't a cast of personality but rather one of brains. I en- joyed visiting though. and hope the department keeps up the reputation it has al- ready gained. ....,L lf1-......... -.....

The aim of the Department of Art is to lay a broad foundation for the studv and practice of the Fine Arts. This aim is made possible bv the different courses offered which are: China painting, sketching, clay modeling, biatik and ofesso. At regular periods during the year the work of the students is exhibited. This adds a great deal to the social life of the department. Also an art club was formed at which the Early American Painters are studied. J I: li lf i 3 , ,f Cl W A ,. -r,,,,,.. Ye.-rms..
