ZMSW 'il' Class Motto We live each day as it corn es and do our best, for it will never come again! Class Colors Carolina Blue and Silver 40 Class Histor Taking a Sentimental Journey back through the past four years, we remember a day back in 1959 when our eager class became green freshmen. We were very enthusiastic and hoped to accomplish a great deal in our four years a t Central High School. We be g an our journey as freshmen. Our le aders were: Miss Susan Stewart, Mrs. Thomas Bruff, Mr. Don Allred, Mrs. Eddie Myers, and Mr. Hayden Thomas. The class officers were: President, jim Graha m, Vice-President, Larry Crotts, Secretary, Carethia Burkhart, Treasurer, Howard Regan, and Reporte r, Marie Leonard. We were fortunate in having Pamela Young from our class crowned Miss Coble Dairy. One of our homerooms came in second place in the World's Finest Chocolate Drive. At the end of our second year, our journey was half finished. We were under the leadership of: Mrs. J. R. Brendell, Mrs. Paul Yarborough, Mrs. Eugene Cooper, and Mr. Wayne Hoover. Our class officers were: President, Larry Crotts, Vice-President, Terry Conrad, Secretary, Sherrill Younts, Treasurer, Howard Regan, and Reporter, Bobby Swing. This year our World's Finest Chocolate Drive Homeroom won first place in the candy drive. The following year almost completed our journey. We were Lmder the leadership of: Miss Rhonda Robbins, Miss Susan Stewart, Mr. Pat Harrison, and Mr. Reginald Moore. Our class officers were: President, Jim Graham, Vice- President, Larry Crotts, Secretary-Treasurer, Larry Garner, and Reporter, Roddy Penry. This was the most difficult year of our journey and perhaps th e most e n j o ya b le. Under the direction of Miss Susan Stewart our juniorsponsors helped us to give a very successful Junior-Senior Prom. Evening in Paris was used as the theme. Ev er yon e enjoyed the prom and went home with many memories. This year our World's Finest Chocolate Drive Homeroom won second place once again. Oiu' class was represented in the Le x i ngto n Christmas Parade this year by Diane Thomas who was Central's Miss Christmas Queen. Our Marshals were Lynne Poole, chie f, Diane Byerly, jim Graham, Tamara Kearns, Roddy Penry, Venice Queen, Tony Beck, Sylvia Crotts, june Queen, and Kathy I-latlqf . 'Receiving our class rings was another high light of our junior year. We entered the last phase of our journey feeling quite superior and with a nti cip ation for the coming events. As seniors our leaders were: Miss Nan cy Potts, Mrs. A. B. Hall, and Mr. Clayton Swice g ood. Our class officers were: President, Roddy Penry, Vice-President, Larry Garner, Secretary, Jim Graham, Treasurer, Lynne Poole, and Reporter, Gaynell Eddinger. This year our World's Finest Chocolate Drive Homeroom was not so fortunate for they received the BoobyPrize inthe candy drive. We were re pr es e nt e d in lo cal events by several attractive queens, Sandra Hunt reigned as our representative to the Miss Davidson County Contest and Tournament Queen, Tamara Kearns appeared as Miss Veteran's Day Queen, Vivian Church was chosen Miss Dairy Princess, and Evelyne Coppley was our Miss Civinette. Our senior year was highlighted by many m e mora ble occasions: our junior-Senior Prom, our senior trip, and, of course, graduation. Now, graduation is finally here, we all view it with mixed emotions. Some are reluctant to leave, others are not. As we leave school, we would like to express our g r atitud e to all those who h a ve made our education possible. We have sincerely tried during our brief stay here to make the best of ou.r opportunities, and we hope we have inspired in others the will to do the same. Now, as our journey has come to an end, we say good-by to dear ole CHS with memories of happy days never to be forgotten.
