FOOD PREP Practices Culinary Arts The Food Preparation Club, led by Pres. Bob Megonnell, consists of students preparing to enter the food industry after graduation. Mr. Rotunda, as advisor, guides the club in preparing menus, in serving the food on the A la Carte line, and in operating the snack bar at lunchtime and during bas- ketball games. The members ot this club mend books, plan and set up at- tractive displays in the library, and assist students in their reading and research work. They also do work in tiling and inventory, and prepare statistical data. Jane Allen is the president ot the Library Club. The main purpose of the club is to provide train- ing in the fields of sales- manship, display arrange- ments, and advertising. The members, under the direction of Mr. John Magero, sell sweat shirts, school pennants, and differ- ent school supplies in the D.E. store. The officers this year are President, Randy Gipe, Vice-President, Joe Vacon- dios, Secretary, Darlene Tur- pin, Treasurer, Linda Zeig- ler. Fl-LA. Molds Future Homemakers An intricate part of the school homemaking pro- gram, the Central Dauphin Chapter of the Future Homemakers of America well lives up to its motto Toward New Horizons. Under the Advisorship of Miss Beers and home moth- er, Mrs. Bushey, the club's purpose is directed toward helping the girls prepare for their future position in the home, community, na- tion, and world. The Central Dauphin chess club, under the lead- ership ot Mr. Reynold Martz, has been organized tor two years. The club was formed to provide an opportunity to play chess tor interested students. The club consists ot about twenty members who schedule matches dur- ing activity period. Plans are currently being made tor the club to ioin a local chess club league. Present school opponents include Susque- hanna, Bishop McDevitt, and Steelton-Highspire. Usherettes Host at Festivities The Usherettes club, comprised entirely ot junior girls, serves the school through ushering at such functions as the Christmas pageant and class plays. Un- der the direction ot Mrs. Eliza Armstrong, captains are designated tor the events and volunteers round out the ushering group.
